treasured jasmine for its beautiful, seductive fragrance.
Research
from Great Britain has shown benefits for such problems as dry, greasy,
irritated or sensitive, skin. Jasmine
will relieve redness and itching and so is useful in treating dermatitis and
eczema especially if accompanied by a psychological problem such as depression.
It is delightful to use as a facial oil due to its lovely scent.
But only a small amount is needed, as it is concentrated and therefore, a
fairly powerful oil and too much can have an opposite effect to what is needed.
Caution:
Avoid during pregnancy.
Unfortunately,
because of the high price of Jasmine absolute it is especially susceptible to
adulteration. Therefore, it may be
advisable to regard the oil as a perfume material rather than an aromatherapy

Handmade
Beauty Product Recipe: Rose Bath Syrup
Rose essential oil is unsurpassed at
instilling a feeling of well-being and confidence. It relaxes the emotions and
soothes the heart. Rose Bath Syrup is an
aromatherapy treat that is designed to be poured into the bath. This recipe
makes 1 ounce.
Use 1/2 of this 1 ounce preparation for
a standard sized tub. If you have a Jacuzzi sized tub, you may wish to add more
depending on your own sensitivities. As with all aromatherapy products, err on
the side of using less rather than more. Turkey Red oil is fully dispersible in
water so this mixture should not separate much. The small bit of rose hips
tincture contributes to adding a bit of additional shelf life, plus the
properties of the rose hips themselves. It also helps make the ingredients less
prone to separation.
Ingredients
18 grams Turkey Red oil (sulfonated
castor oil) if available if not regular castor oil
2 grams jojoba oil
2 grams rose hips tincture
2 drops rose essential oil
Blending Procedure
Step 1. Measure the Turkey Red oil into
a glass bottle. Add the jojoba oil and rose hips tincture. Cap and shake gently
to mix.
Step 2. Add the essential oil last and
cap. Shake gently again to mix. Allow Rose Bath
Syrup to sit for at least a week before using. This will allow the
ingredients to mellow together. Shake a bit before pouring into a drawn bath.
Slink in, close your eyes and enjoy!!
