What Is Aromatherapy?:

Explanation of Aromatherapy:

Aromatherapy is by no means a new discovery - in fact, it has been practiced all over the world for centuries.

Aromatherapy is the art and science of utilizing essential oils for relieving symptoms in the physical body.  These essential oils are derived from grasses, buds, peels, branches, needles, bark, leaves, seeds, berries, flowers, roots, fruits, woods, herbs, spices.  Aromatherapy promotes health of body, peacefulness of mind, helps the negative emotions to rest and by working in conjunction with the olfactory system, helps a person get in touch with their true selves.

Treatment is harmless, provided that the oils are sensibly and correctly used.  Diagnosis is not advisable.  Essential oils are gaining acceptance as a leading choice in home care.  Many chiropractors value essential oils with amazing results in chiropractic treatments.  Scents that activate the brain's emotional centre and redefining psychology.  Practitioners of traditional Indian Ayurvedic medicine have valued essential oils for thousands of years.  More and more medical doctors are valuing the clinical benefits of essential oils.  Certified organic essential oils improve and enhance the benefits of massage.

What are Top, Middle, Base Notes:

Essential oils fall naturally into three groups.  The most highly volatile essential oils, known as top notes in the perfume industry, are those that evaporate most quickly.  These oils tend to have an uplifting and invigorating action.  These are the fastest acting essences and are useful for acute conditions in the body.  Essential oils that have slower volatility, and thus evaporate slowly, are known in the perfume industry as base notes.  These oils are most often used therapeutically for their calming and sedating action.  They primarily affect the digestive system and balance the body's conditions.  And essential oils with a medium range of volatility, known as middle notes in perfumery, act to stimulate and regulate the main body systems.  These base and middle notes are used in sedating and are good for chronic conditions in the body.
