 In these programs, you learn how to provide a verbal consultation and learn what to ask your client and what to say to your client.  You will learn how to use an equation to create a perfect Aromatherapy blend.

Students entering an aromatherapy program with a degree in health related fields (e.g. Nurses, Massage therapists, Doctors) may test out or be exempt from the anatomy and physiology section only in relation to that part of the training which goes over the structure and function of each system.  Pre-existing health professionals are still required to complete training in the application of essential oils to each system and the effect of essential oils on a variety of common ailments.  Any exemption of the anatomy and physiology portion of training should only be allowed when the request for exemption is fully supported by relevant documentation.

Course Description and Learning Outcome:  This is a course to prepare individuals to become practicing Aromatherapists. You do not need to purchase essential oils to study this program.  Consists of these 64 essential oils.  Learn what conditions they are contraindicated for.  In the 375 hour program you also learn information about 32 carriers and what they are good for and which conditions they are contraindicated for.   A theory examination will also be given.   Practice questions are included at the end of each section.  Course material:  Includes 10 lessons consisting of 802 pages including graphics, charts and tables of theory and one step-by-step video of Marlene performing a verbal, physical consultation and cross referencing.  We will provide marketing information throughout the program.  

Learning Objectives:  This program provides students with a working knowledge of the components, properties, and indications for the safe use and blending of essential oil formulations.  A student will learn how to provide an initial intake verbal consultation and client interview, following the plan developed by Marlene Mitchell.  A student will learn how to choose the essential oil necessary for specific conditions.  

Requirements for Diploma:  A theory exam must be completed and is to be returned to the Institute for grading and to earn a Diploma. A pass mark will be 75% on final theory exam.  The student will conduct 10 case studies must also be completed.  We will provide examples of case studies.  These sessions are submitted for the Institute for evaluation and feedback.  Students will write or type a 5 pages or more research paper focusing on Aromatherapy concepts.  This is a body of writing that gives students an opportunity to develop, implement, and research an original idea or theory of Aromatherapy.

Brief information on Aromatherapy in general: Learn about toxicology in Aromatherapy.  Some essential oils are simply too toxic and have no place in Aromatherapy. Learn about these. Learn about the plant chemical chemotypes. This provides a working knowledge of the constituents of healing plants and aids the Aromatherapist in understanding the action of specific plants on the body.  Most scientists and researchers have attributed the therapeutic action of essential oils to several identified groups of naturally occurring botanical chemicals. The History/Philosophy of Aromatherapy in chronological order: Learn about important dates in Aromatherapy from 980 AD up to 1977. Learn about history of Aromatherapy in China, Egypt, Greece, Rome, Europe up to Modern Day.

Aromatherapy and Feng Shui and Aromatherapy and Chakras:

Feng Shui incorporates ‘aromatherapy’ into its practices and the results are more than pleasing.  Essential oils work on each of these levels clearing blocked energy, balancing the chakras, and replenishing and recharging and recovering our limitless vitality.  Learn more about this aspect.

Using essential  oils for spiritual work:  Essential oils can be used in many ways for spiritual purposes.

Diploma Awarded:  Upon successful completion of this examination (minimum of 75%) a successful graduate will receive an Aromatherapy certificate from the  International-Certified Aromatherapy Institute.  On this Diploma, it will state: 

 International-Certified Aromatherapy Institute This is to certify that “student’s name” has a competitive advantage and passed an examination in the 200 hour THEORY of AROMATHERAPY and is now a "Certified Advanced Aromatherapist"  There will be no mention of Distance Education on the Diploma.. 

Materials Needed:  Just paper and pen.

  Learning Objectives:  A student will learn how to choose the essential oil necessary for specific conditions.  

Requirements for Certificate:  A theory exam must be completed and is to be returned to the Institute for grading and to earn a Certificate. A pass mark will be 75% on final theory exam.  

Course Description and Learning Outcome:  This is a course to prepare individuals to become practicing Advanced Master Aromatherapists. Practice questions are included at the end of each section.  Course material:  Includes 538 pages of theory, many charts and tables.  

Module One:  More About the Skin - Patterns of Skin Disorders, Cosmetics with natural substances, Beauty Basics, Skin types, Revitalizing dry skin, Natural cleansers for oily skin, Finding the best skin care products, Good moisturizers, Skin and hair care, Hair conditioner, Using essential oils on the skin, How essential oils work through the skin, facial toner.

Actions of essential oils, Acne, Broken veins, Cold sores, Odd spots, Acne rosacea, Skin infection with pus, Animal skin diseases and dermatoses in dogs, Inflammation and skin irritation in horses, How emotions can affect the skin.

First Aid  which includes:  Snake bites, spider bites, animal bites, wasp stings, bee stings, ant stings, insect stings inside the mouth or throat, burns and scalds, wounds.
