WHAT REIKI IS......

"Reiki is wisdom and truth" - Hawayo Takata

Reiki (pronounced ray-key) is an age-old wisdom, which could be the help you may seek. Reiki translated from Japanese into English means "Universal Life Force Energy". It is the God-Consciousness universal knowledge called Rei that guides the fundamental Life Force energy called Ki.  Reiki guides itself with it's own wisdom.  Reiki is an ancient healing.  The Reiki practitioner lays their hands on the client touching and works with the energy with ease and power, allowing it to flow into areas of the body that are in need. It is a simple technique for transferring healing energy form a giver to a receiver.  When Reiki is applied it brings about deep relaxation and a sense of well being.  During a session, the Practitioner has the receiver in a comfortable position, usually laying on a treatment table.  The receiver is fully clothed.  When the session begins the receiver will experience a gentle sense of relaxation.  The Practitioner will gently lay their hands on the receiver in various positions so as to free the "Ki" energy and allow it to begin the healing process.

The treatment feels like a wonderful glowing radiance that flows through the body and surrounds it.  The recipient falls into a deep relaxed state of consciousness similar to a meditative state.  It is in this deep relaxed state that the body begins to regenerate and heal.  Reiki treats the whole person including mind, body and spirit.  It creates many beneficial effects including calm relaxation, peacefulness, security and well-being.

Reiki heals pain on the physical and emotional level. It also heals patterns that lead to pain sometimes without us knowing it or being able to put into words. Reiki heals the body and emotions, bringing them into balance and promoting health, happiness, abundance and longevity. It is one of the greatest gifts that you can give yourself. Reiki is compatible with other healing modalities such as traditional medicine, chiropractic, massage therapy, holistic medicine, psychotherapy, etc. There is no greater gift one can offer than the energy of Unconditional Love. This is Reiki. Reiki is fairly new to the Western world, but is a form of touch energy that has its roots in Tibetan Buddhist Sanskrit scriptures and has been practiced with great benefits by those in the eastern world for many centuries. Those who help with this energy create an open channel for this energy to flow through their bodies and when hands are laid on the physical body, the energy flows through the hands to wherever it is most needed. In the Western world this sacred information has been kept highly secret for many years. The Traditional Usui Reiki system presents information for all three degrees of this energy. Reiki is an ancient science, which adopts a complimentary therapy system of healing also a holistic system of energy. To become a Reiki I Practitioner requires receiving all the four initiations in person.

Precepts of Mikao Usui
Today only
Do not anger
Do not worry

With thankfulness
Work diligently
Be kind to others

The precepts were a vital part of Usui's system that offer non-dogmatic contemplations to guide outer behavior and inner intention. Usui called them "the secret of inviting happiness through many blessings, the spiritual medicine for all illness." Like the great teachings of all true paths, the precepts are timeless, as conducive to wellbeing in today's world as they were in Usui's time. Reciting the precepts at the beginning and end of each day, continually contemplating their meaning, and expressing them through one's conduct creates a powerful structure to support one's Reiki practice. Usui considered the precepts an integral part of the practice.
